              Just Thoughts

                by the James Authors

A barn can outlast a career, and a bed of flowers can outlive a barn—but a soul is eternal. So what will we work on today?

In each of us is the desire to do something great. Will we accept a counterfeit?

If we treat time as precious, God will give us more precious time, or puff out what we already have.

“Lord, I haven’t time to talk this trip. I just came up here for a few supplies. See Ya later, when I have more time.” God turns to an angel in puzzlement and asks, “Is ‘Ya’ short for Yahweh?”

Too many Christians are more monetarily devout than spiritually devout.

Only someone who has slept sitting up in a hard wooden chair for three nights can relish stretching out on a hard wooden bench to sleep.

Are there more tomes of unknown writers than tombs of unknown soldiers?

Do we struggle mightily to write a great manuscript that will someday save the world—but ignore the spoken sentence that might reach our fellow human today?

We don’t want to invite people over for the holidays because our house is cold and uncomfortable. But there is always a Guest we can invite who won’t mind the unpleasantness. He’s always glad to celebrate with us.

Don’t worry if no one has read your book. You can be sure God has read it. He always has time.

God always gets the unedited version of our thoughts.
